To handle an end-to-end flow involving data collection, transformation, storage, and report generation, an architectural design that coordinates multiple Skills becomes essential.
In the case study of NVIDIA's NeMo Agent Toolkit achieving first place on the DABStep benchmark, the key was an approach called "reusable tool generation." Error Handling Implementation Patterns
Error handling in Skill chains is a critical design element that determines the robustness of the system. The recommended pattern is the following three-layer structure.

2. Chain-level fallback When an upstream Skill fails, implement retry logic that attempts an alternative Skill.
3. Agent-level recovery strategy Return failure information to Claude and have the agent itself re-formulate a recovery plan.

A key implementation point is to design each Skill to be idempotent (producing the same result no matter how many times it is executed). This makes it safe to re-run after a failure and also improves reliability in distributed environments.
